Okay, perhaps this piece goes too far with the particular numerical theory put forward, but it does seem odd that so much could happen at a point in rock's history when it was seen to be a the quarter-century mark. Elvis Presley died, disco ruled, punk could not gain a real hold in the U.S., and the industry would soon face record sales drops and loss of income.
Any other thoughts on this?
